Why Disney?

As an adult navigating daily life, the question I get asked most frequently is, "Why Disney?" I hear it constantly. "Gianna, there are countless other places you could visit." "Gianna, you've been there a billion times; don't you get tired of it?" "Gianna, wouldn't you prefer to go somewhere relaxing, perhaps without kids?" The list of questions continues.

My response always remains the same: there's nowhere else I'd rather be. The sensation of strolling down Main Street, U.S.A. as you begin your visit. The joy of savoring a Mickey-shaped treat. The experience of hearing nostalgic melodies wherever you go. It never loses its charm. I guess my answer would really be this: why not?

Let's discuss this honestly. Why Disney? Many believe it's a place solely for families and children. Although Walt originally designed it with families in mind as he created it for his own, the happiest place on earth isn't meant for just this one group. There's a significant stigma surrounding this. You've likely encountered statements like "Disney adults are weird" or "Adults shouldn't go there without kids." I frequently come across these comments on social media and elsewhere. This stigma inspired me to start this blog, and I'm eager to write more posts about why these statements are so untrue. I want to clarify that I'm not suggesting taking your children to the parks isn't special. I'm genuinely excited for the day when my husband and I can carry on this tradition with our own family. I want people to understand that even before reaching this stage of life, Disney can be a place for them. Everyone can appreciate all that Disney has to offer.

Listen. Being an adult isn't easy. Starting families, diving deep into careers, and experiencing those monumental life events you've dreamed of since childhood are incredible! However, these significant moments can also bring stress: loans, tough days at work, bills, emergencies, and more. Disney is a place where you don't have to act like an adult. Of course, responsibility is still important when there, but once you enter those gates, you're transported back to a time when you were simply yourself—without any attachments. Real-life stress disappears, even if just for a few moments. Everywhere you look, you'll see smiles, characters greeting you, cast members complimenting you or offering help to make your day perfect. That is just the beginning! You can explore an incredible variety of food and drinks. You can dance to tunes you haven't heard in years. You can immerse yourself in beloved stories through amazing attractions and shows, rekindling the love you had for those tales as a child. I am eager to share more details on the adult-oriented spots around the parks in addition to other must-experience gems for all park-goers and families.

The mission of the Disney company is simple. Entertain. Inform. Inspire. These three words are well known in the Disney community, even as a fan. The coolest part about their mission is they entertain, inform, and inspire you without you even realizing. It is so effortless. That is why it is called Disney magic and that is what keeps bringing people back. And that is why I choose Disney.
